Why doesnt he keep in touch?

Okay so I liked this guy and this year we became like really good friends and everyone said he liked me and we used to flirt a lot. He even used to joke about me being his wife and he was pretty good friends with my bro. Well he decided to leave our school because his grades and behavior weren;t meeting up to the schools christian character. So he left one day and we said our goodbyes and I gave him a hug and our special handshake and that was it he didnt want to really talk to me while he was leaving. So now he's in homeschool and so he could to talk to us my bro and I made him a myspace but he just got mad and said delete it. Whenever someone outside of school runs into him , he tells them to say hi to me and my bro but he never calls, emails us back and refuses to use his myspace. Why did he go from being our close friend to not even talking to us? I really liked him and for how close we got as friends it really seems weird that he would just drop me and my bro like that? Now.....
